Church Music
Music plays an important part in the life of St Mary's, with an active choir and music group.

The Choir
The choir of some 12 men and women practices on Friday evenings from 6.30 to 7.30 in Church. The choir leads the music at the Parish Eucharist and Sunday Evensong and usually sings an anthem at the former. New choristers are always welcome, though there is a very simple audition.

Choral Evensong, 29th June 2025
On June 29th nearly 30 singers representing 5 local churches joined us for an afternoon rehearsal, a delicious tea (thank you everyone involved), and then Choral Evensong led by Rev'd David. To a large congregation we sang Sumsions's Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in A with hymns all set to words by Timothy Dudley Smith. John Howes played the exhilarating Toccata by Georgi Mushel as the organ voluntary.
